Teaching is one of the main components in educational planning which is a key factor in conducting educational plans. Despite the importance of good teaching, the outcomes are far from ideal. The present qualitative study aimed to investigate effective teaching in higher education in Iran based on the experiences of best professors in the country and the best local professors of Isfahan University of Technology.

To do so, examples are given which draw on current research the authors have conducted within the Icelandic education system. Critical Race Theory takes a holistic view of anti-racist or exclusionary discourse. The use of critical theories to examine education at a systemic and institutional level is vital as Western countries increasingly block immigration from the global south and societies become more intolerant of ethnic minorities.
The chapter begins with a brief theoretical explanation of CRT and its antecedents in legal theory, as well as aspects from post-colonial theories. The authors then provide a brief historical and cultural review of Iceland, particularly in relation to im migration history and language preservation.
This is followed by a discussion of positionality and subjectivity. Finally, the chapter moves on to look at the current educational laws in compulsory and tertiary higher education in Iceland and how they reflect the development of a pluralistic culture which has been evolving during the last twenty years.
